Abstract


The present state of multimedia technologyoffers to all youngsters a vast range of attractive andenticing resources, potentially very absorbing and timeconsuming. This makes many teachers feel nowadays veryconcerned about how best to 'get their students back'.However it must be pointed out that those very tools may beindeed very effective in engaging students, particularly ifused to develop learning methodologies that help them tograsp more abstract concepts. In this paper severalapplications of multimedia tools to technological problemswill be briefly described as examples of contents that play arelevant role in the learning process. They encompass visualsimulations, animations, 3D simulators, videos, as well asvirtual and remote labs, all together offering many valuablecomplements to facilitate the acquisition of deeperknowledge.Index Terms ⎯ Multimedia learning components, Remotelabs, Virtual labs, Visualization.
