PERCEPÇÃO MUSICAL: EFEITOS FISIOLÓGICOS E PSICOLÓGICOS DA MÚSICA EM CRIANÇAS E PRÉ-ADOLESCENTES

Abstract


The present work aimed to evaluate the musicalperception and the effects of musical stimuli in children andteenagers (10 to 13 years old) attended in a publickindergarten. After a questionnaire, meetings were held inwhich children received different musical stimuli: funk(preference of the local community) and classical music. Thereaction of the participants was monitored throughobservation, drawing, measurements of blood pressure andheart rate, under supervision of a multidisciplinary team.Part of the volunteers also underwent anelectroencephalogram (EEG), aiming to investigate apossible correlation with the cultural background andphysiological response. During the project, it was observedthat children began to exhibit behavior more relaxed in dayto day activities, looking forward to the day of the weeklymusic meeting. From the results obtained, those responsiblechose to deploy a daycare Music Room at the institution,therefore insuring the continuity of the musical sessions.Index Terms ⎯ behavior, children, heart rate, music.
