ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE: A CRÃTICA DOS DISCURSOS SUBALTERNOS
Abstract
Robert Mapplethorpe (1946 – 1989),contemporaneous artist influent on Conceptual and Pop Art,is known by representations of famous friends, for his stilllifepainting and representations of body in homoerotic, interethnic and sadomazoquist relations. Your irony is usedas a critical tool and while conceptual. To work with thework of Mapplethorpe we seek contributions of CulturalStudies in dialogue with anthropological approach; with thepost-structuralism philosophy of Michael Foucault, theQueer Theory and post-colonial studies .We take ashypothesis that Mapplethorpe’s works exposes by the artisticlanguage and Conceptual art the possible uses ofphotography as informative tools and representatives ofknowledge and social critic. This is a qualitative research, with the content analysis on interpretation of image, whichis based in shape and content, being these taken as a speech,in the meaning that Michal Foucault gives to the term.
