AVENTURAS PÚBLICAS, INFORTÚNIOS PRIVADOS: CINEMA, POLÃTICA E FUTEBOL EM ‘O ANO EM QUE MEUS PAIS SAÃRAM DE FÉRIAS’

Abstract

The paper discusses the Brazilian film “O anoem que meus pais saíram de ferias†(Cao Hamburger, 2007)under a double perspective. On the one hand, interprets theapproaches of Brazilian cinema on the impacts of themilitary dictatorship over social life, focuses on thecinematic eye on politics. On the other hand, seeks tounravel the complex web of relationships between publicand private spheres that period, and particularly how thesedimensions intersect and have faint limits. The private realmis invaded by drastically determinations of public life andimplications. In this narrative, the soccer universe emergesin the film as a connecting link between these spheres andtheir multiple stresses. In addition to social phenomenon,football is represented as a metaphor that establishes andredefines ties of affection and sociability between charactersoriginally condemned to isolation due to a secrecy is notalways voluntary.
