Maria Teresa de Arruda Campos, Taciana Ferreira Carapeba Panini

Abstract

The “Living Memory Project: art, culture and history”, created and organized by the Public and Historic Archive “Oscar de Arruda Penteado” of the Rio Claro city government and supported by the UNESP and by the ONG “Rio Claro Cidade Viva”, has been organized since 2009 and seeks to fill the gaps of history through the video recording of oral history, and has as objective to resume city histories that have not yet been registered. Each oral testimonial become a resource to elaborate the documents and archiving, providing an analysis of different contexts of the history. Thus, these histories, ignored by the official historiography, are narrated by yours protagonists and registered through audiovisual resources. The full material becomes part of the collection and can be accessed in the institution building. Some interviews are edited into short documentaries and are available in the website www.memoriaviva.sp.gov.br, providing greater democratization of information.
