Abstract


Many professionals in the areas of arts, sciences and techniques require spatial visualization skills. According to leading scholars, it is the ability to manipulate, twist, rotate, and flip images of objects mentally.Despite its importance, many higher education students that have undeveloped skills, presenting difficulty in the basic disciplines of Technical Drawing, Descriptive Geometry and applied course as Mechanisms Projects and Topography.Several studies were conducted by applying computerized visualization tests with progressive difficulty and concluded that people who initially treated the subject with great difficulty can achieve the ability of spatial visualization.The intent of this research is to propose an increase in the skill through origami, kirigami and origamic architecture, japanese arts that only employ paper as stock and transform it into a real artwork both at 2D plan as 3D plan.
