DESIGN E CRÃTICA: UM CAMINHO PARA REFLEXÕES
Abstract
This work intends to encourage a theoreticalpractical teaching that favors the critical education of the designer. Some authors, such as Ellen Lupton and Abbott Miller, have observed that many educators and designers reject explicit theoretical principles, valuing intuitive and pragmatic aspects. Nonetheless, the use of the practical principles does not mean the lack of theoretical grounding. In other words, an anti-theoretical thinking is also theoretical. The designer's critical activity must not only comprise the standard professional function in diverse medias, but mainly stress an attentive attitude towards the transformations of the profession.
