CONCEITOS EM CALCULO DIFERENCIAL E INTEGRAL: UMA ABORDAGEM POR MEIO DAS OBRAS RENASCENTISTAS NO CONTEXTO TECNOLÓGICO

Abstract

This article discusses the dimensions within the processes of visualization and representation of mathematical concepts, developed from work with some art works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. We apply activities in Differential and Integral Calculus, with a group of undergraduate students in mathematics. We sought to identify the concepts of Integral in the surface and solid of revolution by means of selected works of Renaissance artists, using didactic and pedagogical potential of Information and Communication Technologies (TIC). Data analysis was based on theoretical studies of the semiotics of Peirce. In this context, we point to the importance of experimentation in algebraic and geometric content in the development of mathematical concepts and emphasize the relationships of similarity and association of mathematical objects, generated by the forms of semiotic representation, in which we emphasize writing, gestures, sketches and narratives in the context of TIC.
