Abstract

 Robotics provides a new possibility for public entertainment and art but designing a robot properly demands interdisciplinary and engineering cooperation. In this work, the production process of robotic performance resulted in an artistic work, in which an interactive robotic character is capable of having human behaviors by simulating the movements of eyes, head and breathing. The features that enabled the production have been described, such as, the arrangement of an interdisciplinary team and the use of Project Based Learning methodology. For this, a partnership between Art, Computer Science and Engineering courses was implemented. The important aspects of the work, such as the compositional elements of the robotic performance are addressed in this paper.
