Abstract


In Brazil there are more than 26 million peoplewith some type of disability (IBGE, 2008). Holders ofdwarfism are the objects of our research with emphasis onthe environments experienced by this group (home and workenvironment). The work aims to survey the actual difficultiesencountered by patients with dwarfism in the handling ofartifacts or movable property aiming the general use and itscoexistence with people of normal height to createrecommendations and to improve the health and well-being.A literature review has been performed and surveys ofdifferent media on the difficulties encountered by patientswith dwarfism at home, workplace and the changes alreadymade by them. Based on this material and having thesupport of universal design and ergonomics, a questionnairewith 10 objective questions was also developed. With theobtained data it was possible to come up with a set ofparameters and solutions.
