Abstract

Graduating Mathematics Courses demand highlevelabstraction skills from the students for a completeunderstanding of different matters. This way, the learningprocess ends up being extremely centered in the professorfigure. A video, the way the students see it, is mainly"leisure" and not "class time", changing the expectations ofits use. So, the Licensing Program in Mathematics atFederal University of Pelotas - Brazil took the application ofvideo-classes of as one of its foundations for teaching andlearning process. The University developed a digitalrepository named "Mediacenter". This website´s look-andfeelis very similar to the main video resources on the web.As soon as the Media Center got installed, it was possible tonotice a significant growth in all access numbers, resultingin a better pedagogic mediation, where the videos played animportant role as a complement to the theory classesavailable at Moodle.Keywords ⎯ sharing of multimedia content, streaming ofvideo, video lessons.
