Abstract


CAE Our Environment and the UFAMMonitoring Program continually seek to contribute to localdevelopment through the exchange of knowledge, academicand popular, and integrated action between the communityand the university. Therefore, in 2010, studies wereconducted to evaluate and to adequate the ASSIC’s hydrosanitarysystem that would enable its use with comfort,hygiene and safety. These studies involved students of CivilEngineering and Design and it covered the following steps:collecting data in loco - tests, measurements, photographs,physical-chemical analysis and microbiological testing ofwater, engineering projects, and workshops onenvironmental education. It was noted that these systemcontributed to the waste and water contamination and thespread of disease, and proposes adjustments according thelaw requirements and recommendations of ABNT.Therefore, the development of teaching, research andextension in an inseparable manner has been contributed tothe deepening of knowledge, environmental conservationand local development.Index Terms ⎯ CAE, ASSIC, environmental engineering,hydro-sanitary system.
