Abstract

In Amazonas, the construction of the HPP Balbina attracted people from within and from other states who occupied of form disordered areas surrounding this reservoir. Thus, in 2011, aiming to contribute to the integrated management of water resources in the Amazon, the PIRAHIBA Project of the Federal University of Amazonas has developed an approach strategy to characterize the occupation and the uses of water from four pilot communities, around the reservoirthis UHE. In this context, were identified the management instruments existing; conducted workshops and surveys in loco involving local actors, leaders and representatives of governmental organizations. Therefore, this study shows the approach strategy adopted in the community Fé em Deus, Presidente Figueiredo - Amazonas, which became an instrument of management of water resources as far that promoted the development of integrated actions, contributed to the knowledge of local reality and identified the subjects of the management process.
