Abstract

The evaluation of water quality of Capitão Poço and Goiabarana igarapes, located in the municipality of Capitão Poço, northeast region of the state of Pará, aimed evaluate the physicochemical parameters of water and to associate them to the anthropic activities caused along these superficial sources. The research was carried with specimen collection and physicochemical analysis of superficial waters. The physicochemical parameters analyzed were pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids, temperature, color and turbidity. Among these parameters, only pH presented outside the specifications establishedin CONAMA´s Resolution No. 357/05 for superficial waters of class II. Noting is to influence of anthropic activities around these superficial sources, what shows the importance of creating and applying programs focused on Environmental Education.
