ESTUDO DA VIABILIDADE AMBIENTAL DA REUTILIZAÇÃO DA BORRACHA DE PNEUS, DA REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DO RIO DE JANEIRO, PARA FABRICAÇÃO DE PAVIMENTAÇÃO NA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL

Abstract

This paper addresses the issue of reuse of waste tires rubber automotive drive of the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro. This is considered as an important urban center in the country, and automotive fleet has more than 3.4 million vehicles in 2011. Based on the concept of sustainability - Triple Bottom Line, this paper addresses the economic aspect (use of material with a lower cost), social (use of new material in the construction industry for housing, income-generating activity, among others) and environmental (mitigation of visual pollution, air pollution and water, reduced use of mineral resources and reduction of CO ²). The study aims to mitigate the damage caused by improper disposal of tires in the environment, meet the demand growth of construction in the region, corroborating sustainable concepts in the production of flooring, interlocking blocks, confirming the use and acceptance of products with this bias.
