A IMPORTÂNCIA DA SIMULAÇÃO COMPUTADORIZADA EM PROJETOS DE CONFORTO AMBIENTAL

Erika Ciconelli De Figueiredo, Gabriella Cubo

Abstract

The global process of economic, social and cultural integration made part of architects believe in a completely sealed building, with lighting and temperature control systems that could be built in any part of the world. Nevertheless, this type of building have not presented good energy performance and showed the need of reconsidering projects. Environmental design softwares do not intend to solve every single problem, but support the design, aiming to obtain sustainable buildings. It is necessary to run simulations during the first sketches to make good practices part of the design, avoiding being added afterwards, to improve low performance systems. This paper shows the application of some tools in order to reduce electric power costs and improve the use of natural resources.

Index Terms - Environmental design, simulation process, daylight, thermal comfort.
