PRÉ-SAL E O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE MATERIAIS

Fernando M. de Freitas, Sergio R. M. Penedo, Francisco C. Paletta

Abstract

The discovery of the pre-salt layer, in 2010, enabled the creation of an exploration project that could supply 90% of oil demand in Brazil. Thus, projects and investments in technology and new materials (alloys with noble elements or major elements composition of anti-corrosive) were made, to withstand the extreme environment corrosion, pressure, temperature and twist of the layer, as well as drill pipe, valves and fittings included in the studies in question, estimated in approximately US$ 380 billion until 2015, to achieve the goal of sustained production in 2022. The materials studied in this work are: Alloy 13 Cr, 13 Chrome Super Alloy, Alloy N4462, VDF53 Alloy, Alloy V254, L VRC904 Alloy, Alloy VRC825, VRC625 Alloy, Alloy VRC276, through the processes of conventional steel plant, which involves technologies electric arc furnace, ladle furnace, vacuum treatments, conventional casting, continuous casting, vacuum induction melting, electrical remelting by slag and remelting under vacuum.

Index Terms - Petroleum, pre-salt, nobles alloys.
