ACIDENTES LABORATORIAIS – A IMPORTÂNCIA DO USO DOS EQUIPAMENTOS DE PROTEÇÃO INDIVIDUAL (EPIs)

Abstract

Biosecurity means set of rules to be
implemented in the laboratory environment to protect,
minimize and even eliminate the possibility of an accident,
both for local workers, and for the laboratory itself and
even the environment in daily activities. It is theref7ore
important that every laboratory worker is trained to know
well the biosafety manual and the correct use of PPE.
These prevent, protect and control the transmission of
infectious agents or pathogens. Differently, there will be
accidents that cause injury to health workers and also to
the environment. We aimed to ascertain the level of risk
observed in laboratories, reporting accidents; awareness
workers in these laboratories, on the importance of
knowledge about the strict security and proper use of PPE,
as well as identifying the main causes of accidents.
