O POLICIAMENTO COMUNITÁRIO COMO INSTRUMENTO DA POLÍCIA CIDADÃ

Abstract

For the maintenance of a Democratic State ofRight the principal is not force, neither aggression, throughthe police repression, but the development of the societythrough education, unrestricted access to the justice andprotection to the rights. The formation of the police shouldbe central in human rights, so that this is understood ashaving dignity and be able to view the next likewise.Community policing is characterized by integrating thecommunity police officer, rescuing the reliability in theirfunctional activity and preventing crime. Through themediation of conflicts - an effective instrument for thedevelopment of this proposal, because it is a mechanism thatuses dialogue and consensus building - the relationshipbetween security officer and society becomes stronger,which helps in educating the population before theirresponsibility with regard to public security and theeffectiveness of a culture of peace.
