Abstract


The activated sludge process is a traditionalalternative to swage treatment. This method has proved tooutstand others regarding efficiency, operation flexibilityand it is capacity of adjustment regardless the amount ofavailable area. This papework is about studying andanalyzing activated sludge sewage treatment in São Miguel(São Paulo) and perform a statistical analysis of effluentquality to industrial reuse, through organic mass data-BOD(Biological Oxygem Demand) and COD(ChemicalOxygem Demand),suspension solids, pathogenic organismsand nutrients, among others.This work compares themeasured values of DBO and DQO (affluent, effluent andremoval) with the standards of the current legislation.Index Terms ⎯ Activated sludges.
