THE BIODIVERSITY, PHARMACEUTICAL MARKET AND BRIC* COUNTRIES: NATURAL MEDICINES FROM BRAZILIAN AMAZON.

Abstract


Allow us to present the visibility of naturaldrugs in the world. The natural product’s interest is rootedin behavioral factors, political, economic, biological,chemical, biotechnological; pharmaceutical which producedchanges in company’s strategies targeting the market ofgreen-products .The developing drugs cost is $ 897 million.Estimate that 40% of drugs have been from natural sources.Scholars dealing that only 10% of the world’s biodiversityhave been studied. The Earth lost 1/3 of biological resourcesin the last 25 years. Environmental degradation and qualityof life, mainstream paradigm and economic crises bring usto the quest for longevity, health and their representation bythe natural medicines in the market. The sustainabledevelopment could be a paradigm shift from Amazon regionaddressed. Focus points are biotechnological innovation,biodiversity and the BRIC countries. The potential ofmedicines from Amazon Forest emerges. The dialogueHumankind and Nature appears as strategic vision hotspot.Index Terms ⎯ Amazon, Biodiversity, ComplementaryMedicine, Health Policies.
