CONVERGING TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY

Abstract

This paper has the objective of showing the historyfollowed by the several accomplishments of 2 organizations thathave been working together organizing a top scientific congresswith quality and impact in the academic society. Since its very firstedition, the Congress called SHEWC - Safety, Health andEnvironment World Congress has been a success not always interms of numbers but in terms of quality. Many organizations haveengaged in the idea along the years and, despite the difficulties.  Itimproved along the time and crisis and that is why this is its10thedition. This SHEWC’2010 is the result of the hard work of twoorganizations and the Engineering School of MackenziePresbyterian University, whose efforts will certainly result in a veryrich congress.Index Terms ⎯ Health, sustainability, environment, quality of life,safety, scientific research.
