Abstract


Material, social and symbolic structures of the current society show the key role of scientific-technological system whose knowledge is today a decisive factor behind the production paradigm. This context places engineering education in the heart of discussion of relationship between education and work. Our research work: "The training of engineers in Argentina and the requirements of new jobs for graduates in Electronics, Mechanical and Information Systems" - headquartered in the Department of Science Technology and Productive Innovation. (Code: 25/C100) - has worked to identify the skills and competences required in the workplace to graduates of the three careers mentioned during the 2003-2007 period in the FRBA university , and contribute with their results to the discussion of the career plan. The methodological approach has joined qualitative and quantitative procedures to the gathered information and its analysis. The team has systematized and standardized the results to be presented in the paper.
