VIDEOCONFERENCE SOFWARE FOR E-LEARNING OF “COMMUNICATION THEORY” FOR TELECOMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING STUDENTS

Abstract


This paper presents a work-in progress about a videoconference software designed to create an e-learning system for teaching Telecommunications Engineering’s students the subject “Communication Theory”. The offered services included in the on-line tool are such as teletutorials, tele-assistance, the exchange of files, a bulletin board system to help answer questions using figures, texts and writing in real time, or a chat room, among other students or private lecturer-student. The current pilot phase is being conducted with the help of 2nd-year Telecommunications engineering students taking the subject of Communication Theory. The sampling will confirm the tool’s suitability by means of two indicators: academic performance and a satisfaction survey for both students and professors.
