A INTERNET COMO MÍDIA PARA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DA EAD

Abstract


Distance Education is presented as a solutionto the problems of social inequality, broadening access toeducation. In a country of continental proportions and thathas areas of low population density, one of the besttechnologies to implement the Distance Education is theinternet. According to Litto (2008), the Web 2.0 offers morepossibilities for collaboration and information sharingamong students and teachers via social networking sites,such as YouTube and TeacherTube, project managementand multimedia video. The Internet received the status ofmedia, and as such must have a level of quality that enablesthe implementation of projects. Cisco recently conducted aglobal survey on the quality of the Internet, and Brazilappears as one of the four worst in the world. It is necessaryto change this picture, and monitoring and standardizationof the sector are the most direct responses to this endeavour.Index Terms ⎯ EAD, Internet, Banda-larga.
