Abstract


In search of a children's media culture, webased this paper on the Culture of Software which states thatthe software is the invisible glue that ties all things together.We noted that, from software, we could identify a possibleconstruction of a children's culture, based mainly on theeducational aspect. We presented, thus, educationalsoftware classified like: Drill and Practice, TutorialSystems, Computer Simulations, Problems Solver Software,Tool Software, Programming, Integrated Learning Systemsand Computer Managed Instruction, illustrating each onewith examples of software that bring pedagogic function.Finally, we realized that children penetrate in the adultworld, because the options of software for them are still few.However, we envision the beginning of the development of achildren's media culture.Index Terms ⎯ Children's Culture, Culture of Software,Educational Software.
