Abstract


The motivating element for this article wasthe engagement of the PET group, Tutorial EducationProgram, in a process to improve the teaching. For that,it was needed to develop something that allows modeling,for studying or working purposes, with low cost, using afree software that is available to all computer platforms.This work was based on the recognition of PHUN as aworking and studying tool. There was also the translationof the official website to the Portuguese language. Thearticle is structured in five parts: introduction withjustifying, objective and methodology; history, physicslaws, modeling and software tools; case study, containingan official example of the software and one developed bythe PET group; conclusions and suggestions for futureworks; references.Index Terms ⎯ PHUN, teaching, physics, modeling.
