MONITORAMENTO COMO SUPORTE PARA O APERFEIÇOAMENTO DO ENSINO DE GRADUAÇÃO: EXPERIÊNCIA NO CURSO DE ENGENHARIA DE PRODUÇÃO DA UFPB

Abstract


Through the Program REUNI, the FederalUniversity of Paraiba has taken actions related for thequantitative academic and scientific expansion and theimprovement of the institution. Among the actions is anacademic plan for the support of the graduation course’simprovement by post-graduate programs and an articulationbetween them. In this context, a research team composed ofprofessors, masters students and Industrial EngineeringCourse student’s of UFPB has taken actions in thisdirection, studying the evasion and retention of students atthe course and working at key disciplines. About the evasionand retention are being developed two information systems:one for monitoring the academic life of students, and one formonitoring the graduates of the course. The first one willprovide information that will let for the identification ofobstacles and their causes, and the second will reveal theadequacy of the professional market, enabling the definitionof strategic actions.Index Terms ⎯ Evasion, monitoring system, retention.
