A RELEVÂNCIA DOS CLUBES DE MATEMÁTICA PARA O ENSINO DE MATEMÁTICA NA ÁREA CIENTÍFICO-TECNOLÓGICA

Abstract

With the purpose of developing the students'logical and critical spirit, in the year of 2005, the RegionalUniversity of Blumenau with the Municipal City Hall ofBlumenau developed the project of Academical Extension:Mathematics Clubs in all over the teaching net. On thatyear, 38 students participated in the Municipal Club; in2006, 131 students; 417 students in 2007 and 106 in 2008.The students met biweekly, in the daily period, in thedependences of FURB. They were organized in groups, anddeveloped projects, monitored by academics and/or teachersof the Mathematics Degree of this institution. Through amethodology centered in the student, the projects looked forto become aware the students on the importance of theMathematics for their professional and technologicalformation, as well as for the citizenship. In this project thestudents developed their creativity, an importantcharacteristic for the professionals' formation in thescientific-technological area.Index Terms ⎯ Club; Mathematical education; ExtraclassesActivities.
