OBJETOS DE APRENDIZAGEM NA ENGENHARIA ELÉTRICA: UMA NOVA ABORDAGEM BASEADA EM ASPECTOS COGNITIVOS
Abstract
Traditionally, the informationassociated with power systems has been represented eitheras numerical fields on single-line diagrams or by tabular listdisplays. Several approaches have been suggested tosupplement numeric fields, especially for power flowvisualization. Nevertheless, very little empirical researchhas been presented in the literature evaluating theeffectiveness of these methods. Some researchers haveshown that, under certain conditions, these techniques mayprejudice the performance instead of improving it. So, theyemphasize the need for human factors research to designthese tools. In this paper another issue is considered:Learning Objects and Energy Management Systems havegenerally been designed with the same principles, althoughdifferent goals require different strategies. Thus, in this workthe use of cognitive sciences is suggested to support thedevelopment of educational tools, based on the fact that thecurrent trends have been stimulating cognitive levelsdifferent than those required for success in learning.Index Terms ⎯ cognitive sciences, educational software,engineering education, learning objects.
