Abstract

This article describes the usage of an RTOS(Real-Time Operating System)  μClinux for management andcommunication between FPGA's boards and supervisorysoftware through Ethernet network. The software wasdeveloped in JAVA, in order to implement the control andautomation of industrial processes and the hardware, implemented in reconfigurable hardware with NIOS IIprocessor. This hardware was basically developed withSOPC Builder (System On a Programmable Chip) and aLinux distribution Ubuntu in Debian source-code. InsideSOPC Builder, the driver DM9000A was inserted to controlthe Ethernet protocol of communication. Implementing thiswork, it is possible to develop applications to controlprocess using Ethernet network and a embedded modulemade of reconfigurable hardware.Index Terms ⎯ Ethernet, FPGA, RTOS.
