Abstract


The Basic Education Evaluation System (SAEB)enables a student performance monitoring and providessubsidies for public policies monitoring related to education.Since 1995, SAEB uses the Item Response Theory as anevaluation test guideline. Beyond this theory applied in theproposed software, it is highlighted student interactivity withthe environment, the simplicity and insight in the testingdeveloping thus a friendly environment for the student tosolve the test questions. This paper proposes thedevelopment of an educational software prototype calledVirtual-TANEB for an online Website. This computerapplication is adapted to the student's cognitive levelthrough Artificial Intelligence (software agents). Initially,this software includes only the mathematics disciplinecontent of 4th grade of elementary school, speciallygeometry providing the financial burden reduction and lesstime to deliver the student evaluation result.Index Terms ⎯ Educational assessment, item responsetheory, software agents, SAEB.
