Abstract


This study aims to bring significant benefits toreflect on the need for educational practices that point to thepossibility of a renewal of the learning of science, fromprocesses of education focused on social and scientificeducation, related to educational activities that allow theteacher is the mediator of the process of learning. Therefore,it is proposed to discuss the role of education in science andtechnology to improve the quality of teaching and learningso that, from the elementary school, the scientific literacycan contribute in a democratic way of development of skillsin all areas of science. The dissemination of science andtechnology is an important educational tool, included in thesocial field by a wide range of media, coupled with formaleducation in building a scientific and technologically literatesociety, as an essential element of education that leads totrue citizenship.Keywords - Science, technology, literacy.
