ENHANCING LEARNING BY UTILISING STUDENTS IN CREATING COURSE MATERIAL AND COURSE GRADING EVALUATION
Abstract
In many cases one of the essential problems inuniversity education has been following: more students,equal number of teaching resources. This trend leads tosituation in which courses have only one teacher per up to50 students. Therefore teachers do not have enough time perstudent and the students are lacking personal feedback andguidance. In this paper we present the ways how we turnedthis challenge into advance and utilized the student mass toincrease the teaching resources. Two of our four cases arerelated to organizing the assignments and the other two forusing peer assessment in evaluation of examinations.According to our experiments and to the student feedbackthe use of our methods enhanced also the learning resultsand learning phenomenon but it also created changeresistance among students. This is because students have towork harder and be more motivated for learning - hencethey truly learnt.Index Terms ⎯ Active Learning Methods, Peer review, Selfassessment,Students as a Teaching Resource.
