Abstract


The methodology Six Sigma has the objective toincrease the profitability of the companies, optimizingproducts, processes and consequently, developing thesatisfaction of its customers. For elaboration of this work,first a historical briefing of the methodology has beenwritten, as well as the involved concepts in its application.After that, the method DMAIC has been presented and so thetools that potentially can be used in a project of this type.Finally, a study of case of the methodology application inthe logistic department has been presented of ametallurgical company located in Brasil, with objective toreduce shipment times. With the improvement actionsimplantation, it has been verified that all the measured timeshad been below of the stipulated goal, being able to say thatthe expectations for the work had been surpassed. In such away, we could demonstrate the methodology effectiveness.
