O ENSINO TECNOLÓGICO ATUAL – TENDÊNCIAS

Renato Lucas Pacheco, Lúcia Helena Martins-Pacheco

Abstract

The global market of technology is promising. There is a lack of technologists and engineers, both inamount and skills. But the changes in market are intense. What is the profile of this engineer/technologist of the 21stCentury? The market does not want “waste” time shapingthe professional; it wants them ready. Nevertheless, whenthe enterprise switches the technology, this employeebecomes instantaneously obsolete. How to sustainemployability? What type of school is needed in thisscenario? These and other questions are approachedincluding: Students diversity, technology teaching andeconomy cycles, the uses of information technology inteaching, institution survival strategies in a scenario of fewresources and great expectations of enterprise profits.School should be working for the job/consumer market as aprovider of labor force, or/and should be critical innovative,an agent of social transformation?
