A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DO ENFOQUE CTS PARA A FORMAÇÃO DO ENGENHEIRO

Abstract


Are presented in this article, the perspectives of
STS (Science, Technology and Society) in the relevant
transformations in engineering education. We examine the
LDB (Law of Directives and Bases of Education) and
Curriculum Guidelines that guide the engineering courses in
Brazil and that underlie the construction of the pedagogical
projects. Seeks to understand what is expected of the
engineer in terms of skills and competencies. Allegations are
made about the appropriateness of adopting the STS as an
inducer of important transformations in the training of
engineers citizens who have the ability to use the knowledge
acquired in the course to a more relevant work in the society
in which they operate.
