STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS: ASSESSMENT AND NEW PROSPECTS
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is multi-fold. The first
aspect examines the current status of the exchange study
abroad programs between Kettering University and those
participating schools in Germany, and the second part
discusses the assessment at the course level. Finally, new
prospects in study abroad programs in general are briefly
discussed. Such study abroad programs and their
assessment at both the course level and at the program level
provide opportunities to promote understanding of the
student performance in courses taken abroad under a
different academic set up and college environment. It is
hoped that the assessment efforts will be continued in future
to maintain good quality study abroad programs at
Kettering University, which is a part of continuous
improvement process. The paper concludes with a
discussion of new prospects to expand the study abroad
programs to other parts of Europe, to other countries such
as Asia and Latin America.
