Abstract

Quality of engineering education cruciallydepends on the quality of teaching. To improve the quality ofengineering education, the first and foremost mission shouldbe the improvement of teaching quality of engineeringeducators. The curriculum on Master level for engineeringeducators was designed at Estonian Centre for EngineeringPedagogy at Tallinn University of Technology in 2006 andimplemented in 2007. The curriculum is original, the firstand only one in Estonia providing education in EngineeringPedagogy for engineering educators on Master level in theamount of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System)credits, nominal duration of studies being 1 year. Studies inEngineering Pedagogy have been planned and designedtaking account of main aspects of Klagenfurt School ofEngineering Pedagogy (by Adolf Melezinek). The curriculumis based on IGIP (International Society for EngineeringEducation) Recommendations for Studies in EngineeringPedagogy Science.
